| Berlin ist die Hauptstadt Deutschlands und mit 3,4 Millionen Einwohnern auch die größte deutsche Stadt. Eigentlich ist Berlin ein Zusammenschluss verschiedener Bezirke, die alle ihre eigene Struktur, Geschichte und teilweise auch Denk- und Lebensweise haben - so genannte Kieze. Der Charme eines Kiez entschlüsselt sich nicht sofort, daher konzentrieren sich die Rundreisen auf die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Dazu zählen das Brandenburger Tor mit dem nahen Regierungsviertel, der Berliner Dom in der Nähe der Einkaufsmeile Friedrichstraße, der Fernsehturm mit seinem großartigen Ausblick, der moderne Potsdamer Platz sowie die Prachtstraßen Kurfürstendamm und Unter den Linden. Die Museumsinsel enthält nur einen kleinen Teil der mehr als 175 Berliner Museen, von denen das Ehrfurcht gebietende Jüdische Museum ein Highlight ist. Die Kreativität, für die Berlin so bekannt ist, steckt derzeit in den Stadtteilen Kreuzberg und Friedrichshain, hier sind die ausgefallensten Läden und die angesagtesten Clubs zu finden. Da das Verkehrsnetz sehr gut ausgebaut ist, lohnt es sich also, eine günstige Unterkunft in den Randbezirken zu suchen, um auch das Berliner Umland, z.B. Potsdam, kennenzulernen. |
